Well thank fuck for that! RE4 is now completed, and apart from being the second best game I've ever played it has swallowed up an entire chunk of my life! I'm edgy, nervous, and suffering from sleep deprivation.
Now I can resume normal blogging output, get back to my Dreamcast and Saturn and avoid any RPGs (particularly Horror Survival ones) for the next few weeks at least!
The next two games I play and review will be (somewhat refreshingly, and well within my comfort zone) between 10 and 20 years old, with lovely 2D graphics, midi soundtracks and no bloody, mutating, undead, flesh eating monsters!!!
Right I'm off to bed to twitch and have nightmares...

Retro gaming humanity welcomes you back !
:)
(I hear RE4 might be coming for PC... so, guess I might have a look)
And you said you didn't like Resident evil games... *chuckles*
The ending sucked balls (which is what Leon should've let Ashley do), but the game is so good, it's a minor thing I think many let slide.
Ah Gnome! Tis good to be back in the land of the living...
Yes J I know... the ending... apart from being made to do the bloody jet ski thing with my nerves in tatters (I had to get my son to do it as I was cursing and spluttering with popping veins every time I crashed and died...)
Wouldn't it have ben refreshing if Leon had replied to Ashley's request to "Do some overtime" or whatever it was:
"OK love, do you take it up the wrong 'un?" or at least chuckled and said "Score!" in his cheesy American lilt and winked at the camera...
Why do all video game heroes have to be so sadly 'Cliff Richardesque'? (LOL!)
(averts eyes from possible spoilers)
breaks open bottle of champagne, completing a game is a rarity in my household... so i hold you in pretty high esteem right now......
heres to RE4 and determination....
mind if your heading over to get gnome, wet paint everywhere.....
...whats the chances of you posting some ladder shots from RE4..only i was just wondering.....
Completing a game in my household is a rarity Elderly, so I'll accept your generous toast... I'm already missing it and tried starting RE Code Veronica last night, but it just wasn't the same...
Seamus, the candid but accurately freeze-framed ladder shots are on there way to you now in a brown paper envelope marked 'Benidorm 05' *wink!*
wink!
I dunno. It WAS the president's daughter and all. Maybe he was just holding out for Ada Wong?
..oh who am I kidding. That ending pissed EVERYONE off. Including me. I did not guide Leon through resident Evil 2 and 4 just to have him cop out when he had a chance to score...pretty boy loser nancy boy...
Oh but the PS2 version had SEVERAL extra missions...so you will be back FK...oh you will be back...UMBRELLA COMMANDS IT!
Oh and was their a chance to get the chainsaw as a weapon on the PS2 version? I have the gamecube version but the chainsaw really is a deal maker when it comes to purchasing the extra PS2 copy...
