Nights remake for the PS2?

Apparently so.

My bet is that it's the next game on the Sega Ages 2500 series, which recently caught my attention with the release of Vol 31, a port of the arcade version of Virtual-On, one of my cult games for the Saturn. More on that later...

Anyway, looks like NiGHTS has never been so popular.

  1. Wow! First HOTD on the Wii, now NiGHTS on the PS2! It makes perfect sense though doesn't it?

People who play the Wii version will be interested in the Saturn original, but with less and less Saturns around and billions of PS2 consoles about, they can probably make a few quid from selling the original as a PS2 game. Al they'll have to do is revamp the graphics a bit...

And guess which foolish games collector would part with his money to get it? I hope it's not a Japanese exclusive game...

    Well spotted Nebacha!

  2. If it's part of the Sega Ages series (which no one knows yet, it's just a feeling I have since many Saturn classics have been remade for the PS2 as part of that series) it's going to be a Japanese exclusive, but who knows, maybe the demand is so high they end up releasing it here too.

  4. To many, seeing games like NiGHTS, which they only recently said couln't possibly be ported thanks to the unique programming (in other words, they lost it), appaering on the PS2 of all things, when the sequel is on the Wii, is rather confusing. Not that it's a bad thing, being able to play the classic game that so many missed out on (considering theres a good chance the sequel will be rushed and messy), but what a weird world it has become to see it ported on the PS2 of all things..
