What do 1150 Saturn Games Look Like?

Fellow collector and Assembler board dude "Adol" finally managed, what many of us may never achieve: He collected every Saturn game ever released. With 1,150 titles his Sega Saturn set is now complete and it's not his only one. He already had complete (!) collections of Sega Mark 3, Game Gear, Mega Drive, Dreamcast and most recently Super Famicom games. Don't ask how he achived all that, I simply don't know it. Even with having enough money it'd still be quite an act to hunt the rare releases down, imho.

For the curious ones, there are plenty of pictures of his collection in this particulary Assembler board thread. Go check it out and maybe you also want to register yourself an account over there, since I can only recommend it. It's a nice board, with nice dudes and plenty of interesting reads about the rare, the obscure and the behind the scenes of your favourite console.

  1. OMFG! That is literally outrageous! I have to admit after initially just drooled with delight at gazing on the pics of the collection, that I started to wonder just how rich this dude is...

If I ever win the lottery I'm going to do that!!!

  2. Yeah, it's outrageous. I don't even think he's that rich. I heard he's a student. Dunno how he managed to pull that off, though.

I never ever wanted ALL Sega Saturn games. That'd be just too much. Yet, I love to buy and buy and someday, I'll probably have 300 - 500 games. I don't need all the dating sims. :p

I love collecting Hardware as well. Oh my. Currently have over 10 boxed Saturns. They take up way too much space. :( Gotta photograph my collection some day.

  3. Holy fuckaroly!

That's the most impressive collection I've ever seen!

Seems a little over-the-top, though. I personally don't enjoy collecting just for the sake of it. I always play my games and I get them precisely for that, to play them. Sometimes they suck so much that I never touch them again, but I always play them at least once.

  4. I can never understand collectors like this that spend obscene amounts of money to own every single game for a system, including all the shit games. Will he ever even get around to playing half of them? I guess he's not doing anyone any harm but this is really quite ridiculous.

  5. A student? Ok. That's shocking. On the other hand students can be rich... Oh, and impressive as the thing is and despite me being sort of a collector meself, I must admit that gagaman does have a point...

  6. It wouldn't be quite so bad if he just decided to concentrate on completing the line up on one console, but he also has complete sets of a whole load of other systems (that had a LOT of games each, not a small lot like the Neo Geo Pocket or 32X).
