And then there were...7? Wow...

That's right, folks, we're now 7 (that's SEVEN!!!) here at the Yard. Since this place has been a little dead lately, I thought we could use the help of another Saturn enthusiast and Segata Sanshiro follower (I hope, forgot to ask him that...). So, everyone say hello to マーティン (that's Martin in Japanese)! He's a SEGA fan from Manchester (hey, Father, you two could have a beer together. Drink one for me too :D) and he has been in Japan for...I don't know, he'll give you the details. What matters is that he actually can talk and write in Japanese, which no doubtly will be of use to the Yard, since finally we'll have someone who can read import games (my little knowledge of katakana doesn't take me too far...).

But, more important than that, he's a true SEGA fan and his enthusiasm was what first made me want to add it to the team, so welcome Martin! Hope you'll bring some life to the Yard while Father K recovers from his shoulder, gnome works on his dissertation, ArugulaZ prepares a new video, elend waits for new weird merchandise to buy, caleb finds some game to talk about and I finish the fucking end of semester exams.

  3. Wecome dear Martin and thank you for agreeing to contribute to this site and the DCJY!

You're right dear Nebacha, the site has been a little dead recently, (despite most sterling and regular contributions by our own dear elend)and I'm quite ashamed to say that after a recent sort out in the front living room, my Saturn sits under the TV without actually being connected (for the first time in God knows how many years...)

This makes no sense at all, as the room is now much more pleasant to game in and my Saturn collection is now sorted and stored in one place, rather than stuffed into a thousand cupboards, nooks and crannies throughout the sprawling urban mansion that is, "Krishna Towers"...

Still this is aituation I intend to rectify forthwith, as like our newest contributor Martin, playing Christmas NiGHTS is an essential festive tradition at this most wonderful time of the year... (see post above)

So here's to the rebirth of the Saturn Junkyard and a burst of fresh enthusiasm. As I've found with the addition of each new contributor, new blood regularly brings a new lease of life to this esteemed establishment! So again, welcoe dear Martin, I look forward to your posts....

  4. I used to keep checking the junkyards daily, but as you say, people get busy (understandable) but I am just so pleased that it's not dead. If I can be part of any resurrection, I look forward to it with great enthusiasm. The Saturn may be played on less than my Dreamcast these days, but it has and always will have a very special place in my heart. Also, Christmas NiGHTS is only on one console...

Many thanks for the warm welcome FatherK, I have been an avid reader of the blog and am very pleased to contribute. I'll still throw random things onto my own blog, but when I have something special to say, I'll dump it in the appropriate 'yard.

I also have a good gaming station now, with all my saturn and dreamcast stuff in one place. I need to sort out being able to game in my bedroom though... lounge is so bloody cold.

Anyway, lots of nice photos and reviews coming your way :)
