Sega Saturn Tie! (and some other stuff...)

Well the posts over here seem to have dried up a little of late, a situation I hope to rectify soon.

So for the time being please forgive me for raiding a few other websites for inspiration. First of all one of my regular visits to the excellent UK Resistance yielded this rather excellent piece of Saturn obscura, the Sega Saturn tie!!! Phenomenal!!!

Meanwhile over at Sega Nerds is this thing about the most wonderful and sought after epic, the Panzer Dragoon Saga, which is well worth checking out.

Of other interest, unlike Sega USA or Sega Europe, Sega Japan are celebrating their retro console heritage by showcasing the Saturn over on their website. To get to a lovely translated version of that particular site look here...

For those of you who are lucky enough to have experienced the joys of the Saturn online (and I only know of one, Nick 944, who frequents the Planet Dreamcast Forums) you may be interested in this little site... the Saturn League which brings together those who wish to play the likes of Sega Rally and erm... a couple of other titles over the Internet. Check it out here...

Those far more sophisticated Saturn bloggers, over at Segasaturn.co.uk have voted Street Fighter: The Movie as the worst Saturn game of all time. But they still haven't provided a link to us over here at the SJY... Can't we sort that out? Surely they know about us and this is at least the second time we've given them a 'heads up'...

So here's hoping our fabulous team of contributors will step up to the plate and give us some more fabulous posts very soon! Until then it's a farewell from your host, Father K!

Oh my god, yes. That Sega Saturn tie. I would have SO bought this. It looks really ugly, yet I really want it. :( I could bit myself in the ass, because I was browsing ebay.co.uk for Sega Saturn related stuff a mere days before I saw that post on UKR. Imagine I would have seen this auction! Damn!!!

I am currently not posting much stuff, because I am playing all of those 118 Dezaemon Shmups from the Dezaemon Save Game Manager, which I posted about. Some games are really incredible and I may review some. Still have some stuff to post about, yet no time. I am currently searching for my very own first apartment, as well! :D

Oh and btw. There's this euro Sega Saturn store display currently on ebay.de (-> http://tinyurl.com/3f3gl2 ). At first I thought about buying it immediately, of course. But now, after I am waiting for the auction to finish, several thoughts came to my mind:
1) Fuck, that's really butt ugly.
2) Fuck, that's huge.
3) Fuck, it'll never fit the visual style of your new apartment.
4) Fuck, picking it up from Berlin probably costs 200 EUR at least.
So, I don't think I'll buy it anymore. It's really too ugly. I prefer saving the money for an Egret II Arcade Cabinet, which is much more sexy and in which I coult put a ST-V!

The USA store display is quite ugly, too, which is a real shame, because there is NO japanese store display. The japanese stores simply had no room for such siliness. But who knows... some day maybe I'll build my very own Sega Saturn store display japanese style....

Sorry Father, my fault :( I haven't been much active when it comes to blogging recently and I haven't turned my Saturn on for quite some time, too busy with my next-gen beauties. On the other hand I played some VF5 on my new shiny new 37" HDTV, so that sort of makes up for my neglect :D
