Wow, what kind of language is that? I can hardly understand anything. ;D

Too bad he uses some weird emulator with graphical glitches. But nice nonetheless.

Greatest game soundtrack ever.

So the glitches are from an emulator? I've played so little of the arcade version of Daytona that I couldn't remember if the game was supposed to look like that. And let's face it, when you're in an arcade you don't have the time to admire the graphics :P

He was probably using the Model 2 emu you can find over at http://nebula.emulatronia.com/
It's pretty good, I love to play Gunblade on that thing

It definitely looks like the Model 2 emulator but likely an older version of it. Most of the glitches and colour problems have been ironed out of the most recent release, with whatever glitches left being in the real hardware.

It's interesting that in every version of Daytona they showed there was no evidence of the player knowing how to power slide the cars! I know grazing the wall can be an advanced technique on some tracks but it seemed more like they didn't know how to play the game! ;)

I tried drifting / power sliding in Daytona for a long time. And failed. I just don't get it. ;(

Same, Ive only played the Dreamcast version and for me it was like trying to steer a gust of wind.

I just got the Saturn JAP version of this game in the mail today. I used to have the Saturn NA version, and I played the shit out of that game. Learning to power slide the manual transmission car was the key to pwning this game. And as Elend said above....the sound track kicks ass. I liked how you could input special initials after your race to get a whole bunch of different songs to play.

Power sliding in Daytona is pretty tricky to start with and it took me years before I finally got to grips with it properly. I think the main thing I was doing wrong was that I wasn't holding the brakes on for long enough. Once you've got that right you just need to get used to how much you need to brake for each turn (and what gear to use if you want to go manual).

Of all the versions I think the original Saturn version plays the best. Daytona CCE has messed up handling (and I think it looks quite dull), the Dreamcast version has really twitchy steering and the arcade version is just really hard! :)

The Saturn version is my favourite incarnation. The Arcade version I play on has a very heavily weighted steering wheel which doesn't feel natural. The Dreamcast version is indeed like trying to "steer a gust of wind" dear Golden Cat!

Great find Nebacha!

The original Saturn version is great, but I recently picked up the Japanese Daytona Circuit edition, and they kept the controls(drifting) of the original game (unlike the USA's CCE) plus you get the updated graphics and 2 extra tracks.
