Resident Bloody Evil Bloody Code Sodding Veronica

There have been two Veronica's in my life and they both caused me pain...

One was a big horrible dollop of a head teacher who I worked for, who turned out to be a real bitch... She kind of looked like this...

The other one is Resident Evil: Code Veronica for Dreamcast...
Well it's happened again hasn't it? YEP! that's right I've gone and got myself sucked into another Resident Evil RPG...

Do you remember back in the day, when I made a broad statement that I hated the franchise?

I should have bloody stuck to it... BUT NO! I had to go and dig out RE CV from my Dreamcast collection , print out a walkthrough, fail to bloody follow it, get stuck on the boss at the end of the level... Followed by crying, wailing, abandoning the game... Consulting forums, pleading for help...

(And people this is absolutely true)... I OFFERED TO PAY THE BROTHER OF THE GUY THAT FIXES MY COMPUTER TO BEAT THE BOSS. HONESTLY!!! How shit is that??

It's actually made me cranky, antisocial, grumpy with my children and led to my wife becoming very impatient with my shortcomings...

And the worst thing? I haven't even finished it yet!!! I just keep going round and bloody round and back over old ground to "re-do" bits 'better' so that I can complete the bloody thing and have done with it!!!

On the plus side, it made me re-try the Resident Evil for Saturn, and in fact it's pretty bloody impressive! Nice video rendered cut scenes, decent gameplay and actually closer in nature and format to RE Code Veronica, than the wonderful RE4 that got me sucked into the franchise...

However, if like my good friend Gnome you are a Resident Evil virgin, may I strongly suggest you start with the Saturn version and them move forward through the franchise rather than the way I am doing it. Almighty Lord Jesus Deliver Us From (Resident) Evil...

There is something wrong about graphics and gameplay getting crapper as you make your way through each game in the series...
Love to you all, FK :)

(makes a lovely cup of tea for FK, slips him some valium)

only a veritiable genius could have thought of paying someone to complete the boss level.... i'll be using that tip in the future, it'll save me the angst and pain or giving up..

i salute you, you have taught me the importance of preservance.... truly you are a worthy leader of our cult...

Indeed I am honored to be owning both versions of the RE saga that you speak of. Too bad we never got to see the RE2 release on the saturn, that would've been a real treat.

I never was able to slog through RE1 on PS1. I did finish up the remake on Gamecube though.

The REAL prize is RE 2 on Dreamcast!

I only got to borrow that game and I did beat it but it is too bad that I still don't own a copy.

Bar none the Dreamcast version of RE2 is the best of all.

*Snatches Teacher porn, scuttles off and hides it....*

Timerunner! Caleb! Could it be true? Are you telling me that the much maligned and bad reviewed RE2 (which is sitting upstairs in the Dreamcast stash, whispering to me...) Is the best of the bunch!!!???

Must resist... Must resisit...

Resident Evil has consumed most of 2007 already in one way or another...

Code: Veronica got on my nevres. There's one dirty bug (not an enemy, but it may as well be) in the game.

If you use a key (some blue emblem) on the wrong door, you're f**ked and have to start again. There's no way to continue on. There's 2 possible doors you can use it on and if you use it on 1 and not the other the game doesn't seem to compensate for that by placing neccessary items in the right places. So you unlock the door to the room and find yourself stuck, because the item you need to go on is in the other room. But you can't re-use the key to go open it. So what d'ya have to do? Start all over.

Right J this information is invaluable... Disc 1 or Disc 2? Can you remember? Cos I'm mightily close to fucking the whole saga off...

*Hypnotised* seeing cartoon snake with psychedelic googly eyes... Then finding myself floating upstairs as if following the visible waft of a delicious RE dish...

Then waking with a shock as my mobile goes off... landing with a bump..

"Mr. Elderly, is that you?... What? Revise the stalking list?
Shit! i've just expanded it...!"

I cant stand the RE franchise (I've played through a few and own the original printing of the first one on PSX, from 1995) but I still plan on giving RE4 on GC a shot one day.

Ross! How are you mate?
Whilst I am very undecided about RE at the moment... I'm developing something of a love/hate relationship... I would urge you in the strongest possible terms to get and play RE4. It's the second best game I have ever played (after Shenmue 1 & 2) It's not too similar to the other games, but it is most excellent!

Hehe... And would you suggest us virgins play a Saturn game sans Saturn?

Might be difficult...

Ah, but such a hilarious post. Brilliant tea too...

hey! congrats on passing the first disk and beating that monster.

Hey did you ever get your Steering wheel to work?

I missed out on a special at Gamestop where it was 3 DC games for 10 dollars. I felt like punching the crap out of the nerdy looking kid standing behind the counter.
Next time I go im gonna make some commotion in there until I get my discount, I mean no one even buys or asks anything about the DC games but me.
