The best and worst Sonic games

I know this is not exclusively Saturn related, but hey, it's Sonic!

Now I have to say, this is a pretty good video to watch, and hey, they didn't make fun of Sonic Adventure! Yup, in fact they consider it one of the good Sonic games (SA2 was way better, but fuck it), and the number 1 is...ok, I dont't want to spoil your fun, but trust me, they certainly made a good choice.

Now, about the bad Sonic games...I totally, completely disagree with their choice for worst Sonic game. I have to admit, I played that game sometime ago, both the Saturn version and the PS2 one (on one of those Sonic collections, Sonic Gems Collection I think) and I didn't have much fun, but to consider it the worst Sonic game? Come on, both Sonic 3D and the last Sonic "next-gen" sucked more.

Talking about it, I think I'm going to play some Sonic on my 360. Yeah, I have the game (I'm a true Sonic fan, after all) and yes, it sucks ass, but it's still Sonic...

Oh wow! I completely disagree with the worst Sonic game, too. It's actually not that bad and in the video you can clearly see that they can't play it either?! And what are those bubbles raining all the time? No wonder they got migraine.

I remember some kind of "Shoot'em Up Top 10" Special from Screw Attack, which sucked, too.

I was playing Sonic drift on a clearanced priced emulator the other day and I gotta say that game seemed worse. (it might have been the crappy emulator though).

I gotta give them credit for givine Sonic CD the number one slot. I gotta say it's the best one I played.

I beat Sonic 2 for the Game Gear and I thought it was OK so I am glad it didn't appear in the bad list.

I dunno why they were complaining so much about the music.

There are much worse music soundtracks.

I remember that I played Sonic Pocket Adventure on the Neo Geo Pocket Color. That was quite a decent Sonic game with great music.

The "problem" (if you consider it as such) with Screwattack's videos is that they only talk about their personal opinion.

They're able to completely ignore what everyone else says, if they don't like a game, even if it's hugely popular, they'll talk shit about it, and I actually respect that, although I obviously get pissed when they trash games I like.

"I remember that I played Sonic Pocket Adventure on the Neo Geo Pocket Color." That game rules, only game I own for the NGPC right now. I have to agree with Sonic R though, it doesn't seem bad from watching the video, but the controls are unresponsive and it makes the game almost unplayable. I was going to buy the game, good thing I tried it on an emulator before that.

I was yelling at the controls at first, too. What I didn't know was, that you can take sharp corners much much better by pressing the L and R buttons. I have the japanese versions and thus never had a look into the manual. Heh. It's a bit like Wipeout and once you got the hang out of it, it's a piece of cake to speed through the fast graphics. :D

People generally look down on Sonic 3D Blast, but I like it.

Sonic Adventure 2 is certainly better than 1 (despite what most say), but the collecting stages suck.

I say we give the Hedgehog a break... I'm glad Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast made the top 5.

I think that all of those games look pretty decent, just some less good than others...

I love you Sonic! *Hugs anphetamine fuelled rodent...*

I'm not even going to watch this video because Screw Attack's output is so consistently obnoxious. It's like listening to that radio deejay you hate talking about games you know he's never played.

What I will say is that out of all the official Sega Sonic games, Sonic Blast for the Game Gear is the worst. Who thought computer rendering on a game system with 32 available colors and the lowest display resolution this side of a microwave timer would be a good idea?

Sonic Labyrinth and Sonic Spinball are good runner-ups for this dubious honor, but nothing short of home dentistry with power tools is worse than Sonic Blast.

I totally agree about Sonic R. Its not as terrible a they make it out to be. Although the controls are quite flimsy. It should have been switched with the next gen Sonic game.

Although its their opinion and its a fair list.

And where the hell is Sonic 2? And don't make me mention how much I detest their shite sense of humour. Bah!

I disagree about Sonic R as well. I love that game, especially the music!

I agree with you luke I simply LOVE the soudtrack of Sonic R and of other games of Sonic Team as well, but the music from Sonic R is the best I ever heard in a game. After Nights Into Dreams of course ^^
