Begin the party preparations, for in twenty days our beloved Sega Saturn will be turning fifteen years old! On November 22, 1994 the Saturn was released in Japan.
I've had a little banner up at the Nomad Junkyard in anticipation of the big day, but now that I write for the house that FK built I can celebrate in full force. So fellow Saturn Junkyard fans and writers, what are you doing to celebrate? The 22nd is a Sunday so there is no excuse NOT to do something.
I'll be at a pickle festival on the 22nd, but I promise I'll make time for the Saturn.

I suppose the proper way to celebrate would be to play a launch title. Unfortunately, the Saturn's Japanese launch titles were World Soccer, Pebble Beach Golf, and the awful first version of Virtua Fighter. I dunno, maybe I'll just drop a PS1 off my roof to see if it can fly. ;)
Oh cool! I originally wanted to get myself a Sega Saturn birthday cake, but now my girlfriend isn't working in a bakery anymore. :o
Are you a November birthday elend? I'm November 28th. :D
I think a rebirth of Segata would be fitting tribute.
OK! Time for decisive action! It'll be the day I hook my Japanese Saturn for the first time, and I'll play a few old favourites... That reminds me, I must get on with the post I hinted at some time ago...
(PS You'll be at a pickle festival Barry??? DAMN! Why don't we have things like that in the uK???? I LOVE pickles!)
haha, yeah, the International Pickle Festival in Rosendale, New York. My girlfriend is German, so she is all about pickled things. There is a pickle juice drinking contest, which she wants to enter. I'm afraid to see the outcome of that. :o
I'm sure I'll think of something Saturn related while there, just for an excuse to post a picture of a guy in a pickle costume here at the SJY.
I play my Saturn everyday, so I guess.. ill play it that day.
I think I«ll just throw in the usual classics. Virtua Fighter, Sega Rally, maybe a new game or two if I feel like it. Yeah, I'm boring... :/
I'll probably play some Saturn Bomberman, or Fighters Megamix. I suppose I could try to continue my second play-thru of Panzer Dragoon Saga.
OR ALL THREE!!!
Probably some Sega Rally, and Marvel Superheroes vs. SF!
